What blogs appealed to me. (Practice Blog entry)

Hello my name is Nicholas Standifer and I was looking at blogs today when two blogs caught my eye. On one hand, Billboard struck me out of curiosity and seemed to call my name in an intriguing manner. On the other hand was a blog that struck me in pitiful way. Almost as if they were the two opposite sides of a magnet. One pulling me in while the other pushed me away. Today I wanted to talk about the differences and my opinion on the Billboard blog and the TMZ blog

First, I will start with the blog that I liked, a.k.a the billboard. The billboard first of all had a topic that really appeals to me, which is music. Another thing that I liked besides the topic was the simple, yet still fun background and organization of the blog. The format seemed to be professional/casual. I can tell because there were many ads to make money and the reason I was thinking casual it because there is a lot of opinionated works in this blog. The purpose that I found of this blog was to inform the people about trending music and a blog about musical principle in general. Some things I didn't like was how many pop up ads and how they almost had to many buttons to click on. Even though they had a lot of things to click on, they also seemed to balance the chaos by organizing the blogs very well(Shown below).

A blog that I looked at but didn't enjoy was TMZ. A character of this blog that I enjoyed was that they seemed to have interesting stories until you click on them and they are fake. All of the content they have is just junk. Reading this blog makes you feel like a pig getting fed slop over and over. You get the point. I didn't like this blog and would stay away from it in the future. The amount of times I would read a story and it seemed like there wasn't a single coherent thought that went into writing it was astonishing. On more of a positive note the organization of this blog was pretty good. There was a drop down menu that allowed for easy navigation. The only purpose of this blog was to inform people about trending news topics. That sounds good in theory but they do such an awful job conveying it. A direct quote from this website was "DDG CAPAHOLICS IS A FRAT STREAMERS RUN THE WORLD NOW!!!"

In conclusion there is a clear line between what makes a goof blog and what makes a bad blog. Billboard is a good blog that tends to strive for musical analysis while in comparison TMZ tries to provoke emotions out of the readers with clickbait titles. Billboard uses well structured and organized information while TMZ seems to be more sporatic. Thank you for reading this and I'm Nicholas Standifer, goodnight.

  2. You'e done a good job of establishing your casual/professional voice in this practice entry. You also have a clear understanding of the necessary parts of a post: setup, point, and sign off. Don't forget to include citation/image source information for any images.
